For those that know me I'm not much for looking back at old art projects. The next project is always the best....but here is a look back. In the 1980's I went to Mohawk Valley CC in Utica N.Y. and if it was not for the invention of facebook, I doubt I'd have much thought of looking back. This piece was for a class Hank Godlewski taught. FYI...Hank passed away in 2008 he was a fine teacher and a talented illustrator. I wonder what happened to his massive collection of TV guide covers? We learned of Bob Peak, Richard Amsel, Bernie Fuchs and it was good! HaHa. I was also influenced in by the 80's work of Denis Mukai, Leroy Newman.
About the above piece....Ronald Reagan had a popular presidential rating. I was showing a political issue of those trying to change his popularity. Ronald Reagan did receive my vote for those politicooos who wish to attack me. The poverty characters were inspired by Will Eisner. The materials used were ink, dyes, markers and???. Lets' just say mixed media.
